Line in the Sand

Words by Tom Mason

Drawing a line in the sand
You never learn and you never earn
In the sand

So, I loaded up my car
Drove it out to the West Coast
With no regrets and no hesitations
Maybe a place like California might be nice?
You never know
They've got sandy beaches out there

Beware...

Darkness falls
I was quiet but then ignites
No payoffs, no seances
Even with one eye open you can see
the dreaded truth
Try to grow, never letting go
of the strife

Now you're there...

Cut across the shore
High tide is coming on strong
Freedom closing in and the past abandoned
Hearing a pin drop
Cutting through the evening breeze
and its no more
Depress your mind, impress your kind
and let go
